Privacy Policy

TENOK is the public-facing name of The Equality Network Corporation (“TENOK,” “we,” or “us”). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit TENOK.org, contact us, or support our work.

TENOK Vote is a separate TENOK service with its own privacy notice. External websites and services have their own privacy practices.

Information you provide

Our Contact form asks for your first and last name, email address, and message. Notifications go to info@tenok.org; submissions can be managed in Squarespace and are also stored through our Google Drive connection.

When you give online or offline, we maintain information you or the donation service provide to identify and administer the gift, such as your name and contact details, donation amount and date, fund designation, payment status, and recurring-gift information. Online payment services collect payment information through their own checkout systems. Cash and check gifts may create receipt, deposit, and accounting records.

Our services include Squarespace Payments, PayPal/Venmo, and ActBlue. Available payment options are shown when you give. See our Donor Privacy Policy.

Please do not send full payment-card numbers, banking credentials, passwords, voter identification numbers, or other sensitive information through the Contact form or ordinary email.

Updates and fundraising communications

Donors and people who submit the Contact form are automatically added to TENOK’s updates and fundraising communications. You can ask to stop these communications at any time by emailing info@tenok.org. If a message includes an unsubscribe link, you may also use it. Opting out does not prevent necessary replies, receipts, or communications about an existing gift.

Website information and cookies

Squarespace hosts TENOK.org and processes technical and usage information, such as IP addresses, browser and device details, pages visited, and website interactions. Squarespace’s Activity Log is enabled, and non-essential analytics and performance cookies are not restricted by our current site settings. The site does not currently display a cookie preference banner.

Website information supports operation, security, and understanding website use. Your browser may let you limit cookies; doing so may affect website features. Third-party services may use their own cookies and technologies under their policies.

The Contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to help detect spam. Google Drive provides additional Contact-form storage.

How information is used and shared

We use information to respond to inquiries, send updates and fundraising communications, process and acknowledge gifts, manage recurring gifts and requests, maintain records, and operate and protect our website.

Service providers support hosting, form management and storage, payments, fundraising, and communications. Relevant services include Squarespace, Google Drive, Google reCAPTCHA, Squarespace Payments, PayPal/Venmo, and ActBlue. Their own practices are described in the Squarespace Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy, PayPal Privacy Statement, and ActBlue Privacy Policy.

The Equality Network Corporation does not publish donor names unless disclosure is required by law. We disclose donor information when required by law and to third-party platforms and service providers that support our nonprofit operations. Those providers process information under their applicable policies and agreements.

Retention and protection

We keep donation transactions, receipts, refunds, and cancellation records for seven years after the related annual or tax filing is due or filed, whichever is later. Where no filing is required, we count from the end of the relevant fiscal year. Restricted gifts, grants, property records, and records subject to an audit, legal requirement, or dispute may need to be kept longer. Foundational organizational records are kept permanently.

We ordinarily delete routine inquiries two years after resolution or the last meaningful contact, unless they become part of a record requiring longer retention. We keep limited preference records when needed to honor requests about communications. Records maintained by independent service providers may be subject to their own retention practices.

No website or method of transmitting or storing information can be guaranteed completely secure. Please use the payment service’s checkout for payment details and contact us if you believe information has been mishandled.

Your choices and requests

Email info@tenok.org to ask about your information, request a correction or deletion, or stop updates and fundraising communications. We may need enough information to verify your request. Some information must remain to meet legal obligations, administer gifts, or honor communication preferences. Applicable privacy rights and available responses may depend on where you live and the information involved.

Children’s information

TENOK does not intentionally collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact info@tenok.org so we can review and address it.

Changes and contact

We will post updates here and revise the effective date. New uses of previously collected information will be evaluated against applicable law and the commitments made when it was collected.
